Is North American Indian design similar in significance to South-American Indian Design? |
No. South-American Indian designs have more in common with Egyptian hieroglyphs, which they are even believed to pre-date. North-American designs did include story-telling forms, but were regarded more as art, while Mesoamerican glyphs such as those of the Maya Indians were also used for Politics, Astronomy, Mathematics and Calendrics.
